Before the trip

July 26, 2009

P1080838Two things I’ve learned about leaving for a trip:

  1. Despite all of my best intentions, and a substantial amount of responsibility on this particular trip to people I have yet to meet, I will never, ever be able to avoid packing for a climbing trip anytime except at the last minute.  I’ll never get away without forgetting something either.
  2. Going on vacation from work doesn’t mean you have that much less work to do, it just means you’ll have less time in which to do it.

The consequence of the above is that I will never begin a climbing trip rested.  But none of that will stop me from going and enjoying myself!
